Seats, roles, and billing

Paid seats apply to named accounts with the Admin or User role. Guest accounts are free.

Seat consumption by role

A seat is tied to a named person, not a shared pool. An account consumes a seat regardless of how often the person signs in.

Guests have read-only access to projects they are added to. Use the Guest role for people who only need visibility into test results without the ability to edit anything.

Before adding or changing accounts

Changing a person from Guest to User or Admin increases seat consumption. Check your current plan before making bulk role changes or invitations:

1. Review who currently has Admin or User roles.
2. Decide whether each person needs write access or read-only visibility.
3. If the new seat count would exceed your plan, update the subscription first.
