Authentication via local accounts
Local (system) accounts are the default authentication method for Allure TestOps. It does not rely on any external identity provider and stores everything it needs inside the Allure TestOps database.
For both the invitations and the password resets, Allure TestOps also needs valid SMTP credentials.
Even if you later switch the primary sign-in method to LDAP, OpenID, or SAML,
the system login remains the recovery path for the built-in administrator
account. Use <your TestOps URL>/login/system when you need to sign in with a
local account while the external identity flow is unavailable or when you need
to renew an expired license.
How it works
An admin sends an invitation link to a new user’s email address, thus pre-approving a future account with that address. When sending the invite, the admin specifies the role to be assigned to the new user. For more details, see Members § Manage Invites.
To log into Allure TestOps, the user enters their credentials: a username and a password.
